When you started out your marriage you were this vixen in the bedroom. Your husband was always touching you and you could have been confused for a pair of teenagers due to the giggles that you tried hard to conceal in vain.
Things have changed though. Your man is no longer interested in you the way he used to be, he doesn’t look at you in that way that says that he is undressing you with his eyes and you have almost forgotten what his touch feels like on your bare skin. What really changed?
It may be tempting to look at all the things your husband is doing wrong or differently but let’s not do that. Let us instead look at you and what you might be doing differently and what you can do to get him hooked to you all over again. After all, don’t people keep saying that we should be the change we want to see?
- Give yourself a makeover
A makeover is all about making yourself feel good. Whenever you feel good your confidence automatically goes up. A confident woman is very attractive! It could be a new wardrobe, better make-up or even an exercise regime so you can lose weight or tone some muscles.
- Scent it up
You probably already have a perfume that you like and have grown comfortable with it. You might not even have one at all! This is all okay but remember that scents are very powerful. If you look closely you will notice that even for you, whenever your man smells great you feel a little more drawn to him than before.
So, go out and get a new fragrance. Surprise his nostrils and see if he doesn’t want to get up close and personal with it.
- Ask for help
Women tend to act like superwoman. They will have their careers, raise the kids, run the home and strive to be good wives at the end of the day. What they don’t realize is that by the time the day is over they are already so tired and they are just a shell of themselves. Their husbands therefore see a tired lady and not a sexy woman in the evening.
You need to learn to ask for help when you need it so as to avoid burnout. You can ask your husband, the kids if they are old enough and you can even get external help. It won’t make you any less of a woman. If anything, it will leave you with enough energy to give your man a little more attention than usual and will leave you looking less haggard.
- New bedtime routine
Don’t just go from the dinner table to the bedroom as one of you watches the news. Make a conscious effort to have some quiet time alone every evening. Turn off the TV, put your phones away, put the kids to bed and let it just be the two of you. You can even dim the lights or light some candles and switch the lights off just to create a warm environment.
You may not necessarily end up having sex but you will get to reconnect with your partner.
- Take note of your mood
Have you ever noticed that your household follows what you do? You set the tone in your home and so if mummy is angry at anything or just moody, everyone else will keep off to avoid any tongue-lashing. You may however interpret it as being emotionally unavailable and it really doesn’t end.
Smile more and stay happy and the rest will follow suit. If it is exhaustion, don’t forget to ask for help. If there is something bothering you talk to your man. He likes being strong for you.
